John Swain: Fighting for the rights of his clients
John Swain graduated from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 2005. During law school, John clerked for Justice Martin E. Johnstone of the Supreme Court of Kentucky. After passing the bar exam, John worked as an elbow clerk for Judge R.W. Dyche III of the Kentucky Court of Appeals. Subsequently, John joined the Central Staff of the Court of Appeals to assist the Court with the substantive civil motion docket, which included motions to dismiss, extraordinary writs, appeals from temporary injunctions, and motions for discretionary review. His 13-year career with the Kentucky Court of Appeals culminated in the position of Deputy Chief Staff Attorney. The experience of working as a staff attorney provided John with invaluable research and writings skills as well as insight into appellate practice and procedure.
In 2019, John joined his friend and high school classmate, Ron Aslam, at the Ron Aslam Law Office to put his skills to use in the defense of criminal and family law cases as well as to help our clients vindicate their rights upon appeal. In addition to criminal and family law, John’s experience with civil law will help to expand the practice into the areas of contracts, small business, personal injury, and employment law.
