A jury trial is where ultimately every criminal case is actually suppose to be headed. The Commonwealth of Kentucky has accused you of a crime. You can perhaps plead guilty or take a plea deal, but if you say, “Look I didn’t do this,” you have to prove it that I did it. You have to prove me guilty beyond a reasonable doubt to jurors and the jury trial is exactly that. The Commonwealth actually has to have witnesses, they have to show up to court. They have to testify, and a jury, not just one person, but every person in that jury has to be convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that you did what they said you did that was illegal, otherwise, you are going to be found not guilty and you are going to leave.
